Biography

Tony Fraser – free-lance journalist – Trinidad Guardian – investigative reporter/feature writer, Sunday columnist, Editorial Writer; correspondent for The Associated Press (T&T); current affairs programme producer host on Radio Power 102.1fm; Producer of video (television) documentaries.

Has been News and Current Affairs director of three television stations and one radio station; host/moderator of major current affairs television and radio discussion programmes; has covered major events – elections, hurricanes, conferences all over the Caribbean; has covered major international conferences – Summit of the Americas (Miami) and Commonwealth Heads of government conferences in Kampala – Uganda and Port of Spain; several Caricom Heads of Government conferences; HIV special assignments in Toronto, Dominican Republic, Geneva; and Zimbabwe; covered elements of the 2004 U.S. elections; has been on a number tours of U.S. looking at the structure of U.S. politics in several cities across the U.S.

Was the T&T correspondent for the BBC Caribbean Service 1991-2013; Radio Antilles news correspondent 1980s.

Graduate and post-graduate student of the University of the West Indies – St. Augustine and Mona – journalism, history, politics and economics, and International Affairs at the Institute of International Relations; has trained with the BBC and CNN World Report.
