Biography

Patricia Maher is a senior executive with twenty-five (25) years of general management experience in the service industries including tourism and telecommunications with a successful track record in an international environment. Ms. Maher studied in Ireland, trained in Germany and has worked extensively in several Caribbean markets. After completing an MBA specializing in Finance with Manchester Business School, Ms. Maher spent seven (7) years working in the Caribbean’s tourism sector as General Manager for Go Caribic Tours and Destination Manager for the German LTU Group of Companies. There, she honed her marketing and sales skills while representing a large island destination at World Travel Market, ITB Berlin and CHTA’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, as well as negotiating contracts with tour operators and hosting travel agents.

Her passion for technology also brought her into the telecommunications sector where she worked with the Digicel Group, first as a Regional Manager in Jamaica, then as Country Manager in Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Dominica for 15 years. Her professional experiences have honed her critical judgement and prioritization skills and the ability to deliver world-class customer experiences.

Ms. Maher was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority on 19th December 2016. Her role as CEO of the GTA includes the delivery of sustainable tourism and economic growth from key regional and international markets, and the development and execution of effective marketing strategies to increase the value of tourism in Grenada.
