Dr. Deans has over thirty years professional experience in port, shipping and logistics in North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. He currently also serves as Chairman, Logistics Hub Initiative Task Force and was previously Director of Shipping and Policy Research at the Maritime Authority of Jamaica.
Dr. Deans is a member of the Trade Facilitation Task Force (Jamaica), Chartered Institute of Transport, U.K., Connecticut Maritime Association and American Association of Port Authorities.
He is an Adjunct lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Sustainability at the Caribbean Maritime Institute and a graduate of the University of Delaware with a (Ph.D.) in Marine Policy, the University of Wales with a (M.Sc.) in Maritime Studies and the University of the West Indies with a (B.Sc) in Chemistry.
He is married to Ava and they have two children, Xori and Chaz.
