Encouraged by his success in broadcasting, Dorsey Levens first developed Levens Communications to enlarge his vision of producing quality, inspirational entertainment to theater stages across the country. He is continuing this dream through the newly established The TakeOver Project, which will include television and film projects in the near future. Levens is a retired American football running back in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft. He played college football at Notre Dame and later Georgia Tech. In his career, Levens also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. While playing for the Packers, he rushed for 1,000 or more yards twice and was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 1997 season. In 2009, Levens was elected to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. After retiring from the NFL, Levens became a NFL analyst for the sports website PlayerPress.com. There, he picked NFL games against the spread, and against other professional athletes and experts. He later became an analyst for Sprint Exclusive Entertainment’s NFL Mobile Gamecenter, where he broke down all the NFL games for viewers each week. Dorsey most recently became a pro football analyst for Comcast Sports Southeast as well as a panelist for The Panel on Fox Sports South.
Levens’ current entertainment roles and accomplishments include, but are not limited to, writing and serving as executive producer for Bell Rung, an insightful documentary focused on bringing to light the long-term effects and life-altering health issues suffered by many former professional football player and co-writing and serving as the executive producer of Stripped, a hit stage play. Recently he has appeared in Tyler Perry’s hit stage play Madea On The Run, Tyler Perry’s sitcom For Better Or Worse, and British comedy Gridiron UK. Film credits also include We Are Marshall and Three Can Plat That Game.
Levens has recently joined The Empowerhouse Group as their Senior Sports Consultant, presenting The BioCode System.
Levens earned a BS in Management from Georgia Tech.
